After my last wine cooler broke down, I set out to find a new cooler. I love to drink wine and I usually store many bottles of wine at home. So in this case, I really needed a wine cooler with a large capacity. Also, it is important to me that the wine cooler lasts a long time. I don’t want to have to spend more money to buy another cooler down the road.
I did a lot of research and finally found that the Whynter WC-211DZ 21 Bottle Dual Temperature Zone Wine Cooler seemed like a match for what I wanted in a wine cooler. First, it has a large capacity that allows you to put in 21 bottles of wine. That is a pretty big capacity. Another feature this cooler has is the adjustable thermostat for separate zones. There is a top and bottom zone that is separated. The top zone has a temperate range between 44F to 66F while the bottom zone has a range from 50F to 66F. The unit runs fairly quiet but you can still hear it running. It doesn’t bug me though. Since this wine cooler only holds traditional bottles of wine, I would only recommend it for people who are just starting out in drinking red or white wine. For people who like to explore and have different sized bottles of wine, this wine cooler would not be for you. Another issue for me is that the metal trays might not slide out easily enough so it is hard to look at the wines on each shelf.
Overall, I think this is a good wine cooler for the money. If you only drink red or white wine then this unit is perfect for you. If you like to drink other types of wine like champagne, then this may not be for you.
