I enjoy buying new and interesting toys because they are so fun. One of the new toys that I saw recently was the Air Swimmer Remote Control Inflatable Floating Shark. A friend of mine had bought it and used it at his party. It is a remote controlled floating shark. He had it fly out of the bedroom into the living room and it scared all the guests. Everyone had a great laugh about it. Ever since I saw the shark at my friend’s place, I wanted one of my own. I asked my friend where he bought his floating shark, and he told me he got it from Amazon. So I bought one for myself.

Once you get the shark, you have to fill it up with helium. You can do this at any party store and it is pretty cheap. Otherwise, you could get your own helium tank. Before you start playing with the shark, you have to do some assembly. This took about half an hour to do and was not too hard. To control the shark, you use an infrared remote control which makes the shark go up, down, left and right. The tail fin allows the shark to go left and right. The instructions say that the remote control can work 40 feet away from the shark but I have found that this is not the case. You have to be much closer. Also, you have to have direct line of sight with the shark in order to control it since it uses infrared. This shark can definitely only be used indoors. I tried to use it outside but the wind made it very hard to control the shark. Even in your house, you have to make sure the shark doesn’t get close to air vents or else it mess up the control. Here is a video on the Flying Shark.

Even with these slight issues, I love using this flying shark. It always surprises people whenever I use it. Some things I would recommend when using this shark is to use it in large rooms. It is pretty big and needs lots of room for flying. Also, you will probably need to refill the helium once every 10 days.
